¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español!

MS. EARNEST

¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to Spanish 1!

I would like to welcome both you and your student to Sixth Grade Spanish for the year 2015-2016. My name is Señorita Earnest and I look forward to teaching your student all of the wonderful things that the Spanish language and culture have to offer. This is my second year teaching at Orange County Preparatory Academy; however, before coming to OCPA, I have previously taught in many K-12 schools throughout Michigan and I most recently taught 9th-12th grade Spanish in South Carolina for a year. I am currently working on a Master’s of Arts in Educational Technology through Michigan State University and in 2011 I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Michigan State University. With my background in education and after traveling to over 14 different countries and living in Spain for a summer, I am extremely passionate about Spanish and am excited to explore Spanish in the forms of language, music, art, literature, film, and much more with all of my students this coming year.

Along the top of this page is the course menu. I encourage you to click on each and every link to get a feel for how this website works. There are subpages under most of the headers so please make sure to look at those as well. Some links may not be completely finished yet and that is because we have not yet gotten to those particular lessons so please don't worry if you don't find content on every page just yet.

First and foremost, please make sure to check out the "Class Syllabus Spanish 1" link under the Home dropdown button above, the "About Your Teacher" link, and the "About This Course - Welcome Letter" link  as they are a good introduction/overview of what you can expect from this course.

Given that this is a hybrid course, you will be completing the lecture portion of the course, as well as some individual and group assessments, using this online course site. In class, you will practice what you have learned from the lectures, ask questions, clarify points of information, work in groups, and focus on more hands-on activities. Therefore, I ask that you also check out the "Technology Requirements" page and the "Communication Policy" page underneath the Home dropdown button at the top of this page.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me anytime at
LEarnest@orangecountyprep.com or leave comments or questions in any of the discussion forums.

I look forward to working with you all and having a great year!

-Srta. Earnest
